Flutist Leo Sussman grew up playing chamber music in living rooms and gigging with a salsa band in his hometown of San Francisco. Now a member of Ensemble Connect—a two-year fellowship through Carnegie Hall, The Juilliard School, and the Weill Music Institute—Leo delights in bringing engaging chamber music programs to community venues and concert stages alike across New York City and beyond. He has performed as soloist with the Lawrence Symphony Orchestra, on new music concerts at National Sawdust and Electronic Music Midwest, and as a fellow at the Bowdoin and Norfolk chamber music festivals. Leo holds a master’s degree in flute from Yale School of Music where he studied with Ransom Wilson, and undergraduate degrees in music and physics from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin, where he studied with Erin Lesser.
